0:13name is Jesse Hernandez. I currently attend Baruch College. I major in marketing management with a

0:18concentration in advertising and marketing communications. Outside of school I am the

0:24Instagram editor for the Ticker, a student-run news organization. There I

0:29edit weekly videos producing content specifically targeting towards young

0:33adults at Baruch. Additionally, I also interned with Amazon over the summer. I

0:39led a team of 50 people reorganizing customer returns within TEP3, a

0:45facility in Sweden's Borough, New Jersey. There I learned what it takes to be a

0:50manager, what it takes to be a leader, and how to take initiative. Being your own

0:56boss was something I really learned from that opportunity. As far as my future

1:00aspirations, I do see myself working with a media company like Disney, Universal,

1:05Warner Brothers as a part of their marketing team and in digital content.

1:10Gaining connections through this and experiences will eventually help me

1:15build up to create my own marketing agency, which is what I want to do it

1:17later on in life. Being my own boss is something that I take importance of and

1:23I think I do, you know, given how my career goes, I do see myself being part of

1:28something bigger and creating something bigger As far as one trend within marketing I think one trend we can look at is the influence of marketing and how that

1:39garning more attention and how that's becoming more of a tool that agencies or

1:44companies are starting to use. Every year the Super Bowl gains around 80 to 100

1:52million views and the ads for the cost of the ads for each company is around

1:57like seven million dollars. So it's a lot of money that these companies are starting to have to put

2:01into just the Super Bowl ads. So when we think about like the cost benefit, it's clear that

2:08something needs to change, right? Something is definitely, there's something that needs to

2:12fill in that spot. And this is where influencer marketing comes into play. We have YouTubers

2:18like MrBeast who gains well over 100 million views on each post. And, you know, it's only a

2:24fraction of the cost to, you know, pay in advertising for him. So when you look at, you know, the Super Bowl ads and how much they're costing and influencer marketing, you know, there are definitely like companies need to start paying attention to this. So it's definitely something that's getting more traction within the field. Overall, for every product and service, there needs to be a marketing team, right? Someone has to market that product or service. I think this is definitely something I'm interested in and something that I want to

2:54do in the future. Marketing is a crucial component to any business and I see

2:58myself contributing to that.
