Terms of Service

Last updated: replace with your launch date.

Welcome to JotVox ("JotVox", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. This document is a starting template, not legal advice — have a lawyer review it before you launch.

1. What JotVox does

JotVox lets you retrieve captions, audio and machine-generated transcripts from publicly accessible video URLs that you submit. We are a technical tool that operates at your direction; we do not host, own, or claim any rights in the videos you point us at or the text we return. We process the content transiently, in memory, only to produce the output you requested, and we do not retain the source video or audio file after your request completes.

2. Your responsibilities

JotVox acts purely as a technical intermediary that runs on your instruction. The decision to access any particular content is yours, and you are solely and entirely responsible for the links you submit and for how you use the output. Before extracting content, you must have the right or authorization to access and use it, and you must obtain any permissions, licences or consents required under applicable copyright, platform terms of service, or other laws. You agree not to use JotVox to:

3. Ownership of content

Original content owners retain all rights in their videos and transcripts. JotVox claims no ownership over the text or audio produced for you, and grants you no rights in any third-party content beyond the technical act of retrieval.

4. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content processed through JotVox infringes your rights, email help@jotvox.app with enough detail to identify the material and your contact information. We review valid requests, remove infringing material where appropriate, and take reasonable steps to prevent recurrence, which may include terminating repeat infringers.

5. Credits and payments

JotVox runs on credits. You can buy one-time credit packs, or subscribe to a monthly plan that grants a batch of credits each billing cycle. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not store your full card details. One-time pack credits do not expire. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time from your account; cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the current period. Because each action consumes real compute at the moment you run it, credits already granted are generally non-refundable except where required by law.

6. Service availability & third parties

Some sources require sign-in, block automated access, or change their systems without notice, so we cannot guarantee that any particular video is retrievable. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JotVox is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any claim arising from content you chose to extract or how you used it. Your use of the service is at your own risk.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JotVox and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of the content you chose to submit or extract, your use of the output, or your breach of these terms or of any third party's rights or terms of service.

9. No affiliation

JotVox is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the platforms whose public URLs you may submit (including YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Twitch and others). All trademarks and content belong to their respective owners. You are responsible for complying with each platform's own terms of service.

10. Termination & changes

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use means you accept the updated version.
