JotVox vs BibiGPT

An AI video summariser with deep Chinese-platform roots compared with a transcript-first tool.

BibiGPT turns a long video into a short read. Paste a link and it produces a structured, time-stamped summary, a full transcript, a mind map and an AI chat surface over the content. It started life as BiliGPT and its Chinese-platform coverage is genuinely deep: Bilibili, Douyin, Kuaishou, Xiaohongshu, Xiaoyuzhou and Ximalaya alongside YouTube, TikTok, X, Vimeo and Apple Podcasts.

JotVox is transcript-first. Paste a link from one of 19+ platforms, get existing captions free with no sign-up, or run AI transcription at 98%+ accuracy across 99 languages for a credit. Summaries are available too, but the transcript and its export formats are the point.

Read it, or use it

BibiGPT is optimised for comprehension. The mind map, the time-stamped summary and the chat are all about not watching the hour. Saving straight to Notion, Obsidian or flomo fits that reading-and-notes loop.

JotVox assumes you want the words themselves, in a file. SRT and VTT for editing and captioning, TXT for drafting, MP3 for the audio. Different job, different output.

Both take Chinese platforms seriously

This is the rare comparison where JotVox is not the outlier on regional coverage. BibiGPT is the strongest player on Bilibili and Xiaohongshu, and it adds Douyin, Kuaishou and Chinese podcast apps that JotVox does not reach.

JotVox covers Weibo and Tencent Video, which are not on the BibiGPT list, plus Western platforms like Reddit and LinkedIn. Check both lists against your sources.

When BibiGPT is the better choice

Pick BibiGPT for Chinese-language video. It has been built around Bilibili since 2023, its interface and summaries are native to that audience, and Douyin, Kuaishou, Xiaoyuzhou and Ximalaya coverage is something JotVox does not attempt.

It is also better if the summary is the deliverable. Mind maps and follow-up chat over a video are real features, and JotVox summaries stop at takeaways, chapters, quotes and timelines. Developers get an MCP server and API too.

Frequently asked questions

Is JotVox a drop-in replacement for BibiGPT?

Not on Chinese platforms. BibiGPT covers Douyin, Kuaishou, Xiaoyuzhou and Ximalaya, which JotVox does not, and its mind maps and AI chat have no JotVox equivalent. JotVox adds Weibo and Tencent Video plus subtitle file exports. Many users of Chinese video will want both.

Which one gives better subtitle files?

JotVox, based on what each site publishes. JotVox exports SRT and VTT with timestamps on every transcript, alongside TXT and MP3. BibiGPT accepts SRT, VTT and ASS as input file types and saves output to note apps such as Notion and Obsidian, but we did not verify its subtitle export formats.

Do both handle videos with no captions?

Both transcribe audio, so both can. JotVox checks for existing captions first and gives those away free with no account, then falls back to AI transcription at 98%+ accuracy across 99 languages for one credit. BibiGPT generates a transcript as part of its summary flow, on its free daily quota or paid plans.

Can I use JotVox without a subscription?

Yes. Grabbing existing captions is free and needs no account at all. For AI transcription and summaries, new accounts get three free credits plus one free AI transcription a day after email verification, and credit packs start at $4.99 with a bonus on the first purchase. Subscriptions are optional.

The short version

Pick BibiGPT if you work in Chinese-language video or want the summary, mind map and chat to be the output. It owns that ground and does it well.

Pick JotVox if you need the transcript itself as a file, across a mix of Western and Chinese platforms, with SRT, VTT and MP3 exports.
